SOUTH African fly-half Warren Seals and Italian flanker Luca Petillo have re-joined Darlington Mowden Park and are in the side to visit National One leaders Hartpury College today.

Seals, on loan from Yorkshire Carnegie, replaces Caolan Ryan, who has exercised his right to move up to the Championship by signing for Rotherham Titans.

Another loan signing, Doncaster prop Joe Sproston, makes his debut in the absence of James Penman following his red card last week. Ignas Darkintis switches to hooker.

Garry Law makes his first start of the season at centre and Army scrum half Dom Shaw will make his debut from the bench.

Seals, 24, impressed for Mowden after arriving in early November last year and signed for a second season prior to the call from Carnegie.

He has made only three appearances for the Leeds club, but could be recalled when they resume their British and Irish Cup programme on December 11.

Following Mowden's run of five games without a point, Director of Rugby Danny Brown said: “We are delighted to welcome back Warren, who had a huge impact last year.

“We are disappointed to lose Caolan, who has been a great addition on and off the pitch. But this is a great opportunity for him and we do not want to stand in a player's way.”

Mowden have also lost winger Peter Homan, who has returned to his home club, Middlesbrough.

He was a regular last season, but after recovering from injury his return was blocked by the arrival of another Teessider, Adam Radwan, who made his Newcastle Falcons debut last week.

Mowden will be looking for a return to the form which produced the excellent win at Ampthill, although even that might not be good enough against opponents who have picked up the four-try bonus in every match.

Recent reinforcements have made little difference, with Australian Jack Payne and Welshman Jack Jones suffering injuries on their debuts.

They are among six back row men to have fallen victim to the jinx, with Joe Craggs the latest to join a list which includes Ollie Hodgson, Brandon Staples and Simon Uzokwe.

Blaydon kick off at 3pm at home to Plymouth Albion and include Trevor Davison at prop, Andrew Davidson at lock and Jack Davidson at open side. They are not related.

With skipper Keith Laughlin back after injury, the forward strength is such that they have Robbie Kalbraier, Chris Wearmouth and Gavin Jones on the bench.

With the Falcons contingent available again, Ruaridh Dawson is back at scrum half and the pacy Dan Marshall on the wing. That means they have their full contingent of four dual-registered players without Brett Connon, whose brother Max is at full back.

Despite disappointing crowds, Blaydon continue to balance the books and will be fielding four teams today.

Billingham bring in Chris Dobson at scrum half as they go to Sandal attempting to avoid a third successive defeat in National Three North. Joe Evans is back at centre and Andrew Thompson partners Michael Whinn in the second row with Danny Dixon at No 8.

West Hartlepool hand 17-year-old scrum half Matt Siddle his first start at home to Morpeth as Ryan Painter is away for two weeks.

Also absent are Aaron Myers and Joe Rafferty, while No 8 Sam Miller has a back injury. But Liam Checksfield and John Bunter return.

Durham City will hope to get something from their trip to Malton and Norton, one of the clubs they are competing with to avoid the third relegation place.

Barnard Castle should strengthen their lead in Durham and Northumberland One at home to Novos after enjoying their first visit to Northern last week.

Coach Junior Fagalilo will again be ready for active service, if necessary, after going on when Dan Potts suffered an early injury.

Chris McTurk scored two of the four first half tries, all converted by fly half Sam Errington, who added a penalty in the 31-13 win.

Middlesbrough will hope their strengthened backs have the chance to show their paces at Consett, with Homan joined by Sean Richardson, who makes his first start at fly half since rejoining the club.

He will be partnered at half back by Connor Foley, who returns at the expense of last week's teenage debutant, Sam Seymour.

Stockton entertain the one team below them, Ryton, and hope to have No 8 Martin Dixon back after illness.
