Bishop Auckland are through to the semi finals of the Brooks Mileson Northern League Cup after they came from behind to beat Penrith 2-1 tonight.

Stuart Thompson hit the post for Bishops, but they went behind on 31 minutes when Martyn Coleman crossed for Jonny Murray to put the Cumbrians ahead.

Bishops turned the game around at the start of the second half. Michael Hoganson scored with a low shot, then Luke Sullivan scored from the penalty spot after a handball offence.

Willington’s run ended when they were beaten 4-1 at First Division Morpeth.

Morpeth took the lead after 24 minutes with a Joe Walton penalty, then Wayne Phillips dribbled through and scored the second.

Jeff Smith pulled a goal back with a deflected shot before half time, but Walton made it 3-1 on the hour, then Mark Davison got the fourth.

In the ENL, Shildon beat Whitley Bay 2-1 to go three points behind second in the table Marske.

Both keepers pulled off good saves before Adam Gell made a good 30 yard run, and his final shot was deflected in off team mate Billy Greulich-Smith.

Shildon missed further chances before Whitley levelled four minutes into the second half through Thomas Potter, but Shildon went back in front when Whitley defender Rhys Groves lobbed the ball over his own keeper from 25 yards.

Whitley nearly levelled when Jack Walker hit the post late on.

Newton Aycliffe drew 2-2 at North Shields.

Aycliffe took the lead when Kurt Matthews scored with a low shot on 25 minutes, but within a minute Craig McFarlane equalised.

Marc Costello put Aycliffe back in front on 58 minutes after Shields failed to clear the ball inside their area, but again Shields levelled, this time through Ben Harmison.

In the Ernest Armstrong Cup, Chester-le-Street won 3-0 at West Allotment, scoring three times in the first 25 minutes through Kieran Megran, Daniel McGuire and Alex White.
