Long lay-off for Viduka

Mark Viduka, the Newcastle United forward, could be out of action for up six months. He has an Achilles problem.

Viduka, seven goals to his name this season, was due to have an injection for his long-standing injury today which needs time to settle and allow the problem to clear up.

The news could hinder Stoke City's hopes of landing Shola Ameobi.

Let Viduka recoup elsewhere, his behind has warmed more treatment tables, at more clubs than Marcelino's did. Ask the Celtic fans.Move him out and Eidur Gudjohnsen in.Thats progress

Best song I ever heard about Viduka -
'Are you Boksic in disguise ?' sang to him when he made his long awaited comeback at Palace following a four month lay off in 2005.

Great player - on his day and when he wants to be. Sadly too few of those days. Oh well, at least the daft geordies are picking up the tab on it and not 'Boro so who cares really ?

£70k a week? Nevermind at least he's now at a club who can afford it & where people will notice he's not playing rather than one where no one turns up! Also he is injured this time rather than just not being bothered coz his stadium is half empty. Anyway he's insured so who cares? Old Davwind has just droped his pants & looked in the mirror by the sounds of it!! 1/2 the size? that's why they call me Terry Tibbs, Go forth my friend
