Keltie in line for Darlington return after reserve run-out
Clark Keltie

CLARK Keltie will return to the Darlington squad this weekend after successfully coming through a game for the reserves yesterday.

The 24-year-old played an hour as Darlington were beaten 2-1 at Scunthorpe, and assistant manager Martin Gray revealed the midfielder will be in contention for Saturday's game with Bradford City.

Keltie has not played since the beginning of February after suffering knee ligament damage.

But, after coming through his first game since featuring in the 2-0 defeat at Wrexham on February 2, Keltie will be included in manager Dave Penney's squad.

"Clark got an hour under his belt and he did ever so well," said Gray. "I don't think Saturday's game is too soon for him and he will come back into contention."

The fitness of Tommy Wright will be assessed this morning after the striker took a knock on the hip during Monday's draw with Morecambe.

Gray revealed that it is too early to tell whether or not Wright will be fit enough to face Bradford.

"Tommy was really sore, but that's to be expected," said Gray. "He took a whack on his hip and with these kind of injuries you never know the full extent of them for the first 48 hours.

"Hopefully he'll be feeling a lot better on Wednesday and he'll be okay for Saturday."

Penney will wait on the fitness of Wright before deciding on whether to make one final move in the loan market. The deadline for loan signings is tomorrow and he has already lost Pawel Abbott for the rest of the season.

Micky Cummins, who was dropped against Morecambe, staked his claim for a return by opening the scoring yesterday.

He netted a 25-yard effort, before Scunthorpe hit back with a brace of goals from Kevan Hurst.

Darlington included Coventry defender Liam Robinson and Sunderland striker Josh Jackson in their line-up.

Robinson, 19, is captain of Coventry's Academy side and can play anywhere across the back four. Jackson, 19, has been a regular for the Sunderland Academy side this season.

Darlington: Kazimierczak, Robinson, Wiseman, Smurthwaite, Brackstone, Hardman, Cummins, Keltie, Gray, Reay, Jackson

Darlington are asking supporters to be aware of travel and parking arrangements at the Arena for Saturday's game.

Quakers are expecting a healthy crowd, with a large following from Bradford attending, and are requesting supporters who arrive by car to car share and arrive by 2pm.

Supporters are requested, wherever possible, to travel via the shuttle buses that run from the town centre, Tubwell Row direct to the Arena every 30 minutes.
