GUY Wilks’ first competitive taste of the FIA World Rallycross Championship has left him wanting more.
Durham’s Wilks is at Lydden Hill in Kent as one of two wildcard entries.
Behind the wheel of the JRM Racing, Karting North East-sponsored MINI RX Supercar Wilks took part in the opening two heats of the meeting today, winning race two, and ending the day in 12th position.
After two more qualifying heats in the morning, the top 12 qualify for tomorrow afternoon’s semi-finals.
Speaking afterwards, Wilks said: ““Rallycross is just wicked.
“Considering how much experience I have in this sport and the team has with this new car, I’ve got to be pretty happy.
“We need to improve the car overnight but it would be awesome if we could make the semi-finals.”
