The traditional end to the season is the Gordon Elliott Memorial Interclub Pairs Competition, where players are draw at random. 58 players entered.

The winners of Group 1 were Paul Cartwright of Easington Colliery Club B and Craig Anderson of Easington Lane Bonnie Pit Lad, who, in their group final, beat Keith Garnham of Easington Colliery Club A and Kevin Elliott of Hetton Shepherds B by 2 legs to 1. The winners of Group 2 were Darren Heron of Blackhall RAFA and Steven Bland of Peterlee Hearts of Oak A who, in their group final, beat Alan Patterson of Hetton Shepherds A and Sean Potts of Peterlee Pavilion by 2 legs to 0. The winners of Group 3 were Paul Hope of Shotton Comrades and Gary Turnbull of Horden Comrades who, in their group final, beat Duggie Stevenson of Horden Comrades and Reece Allison of Peterlee Hearts of Oak A by 2 legs to 1. The winners of Group 4 were Liam Carr of Wheatley Hill Club and Alan Stokoe of Shotton Comrades who, in their group final, beat David Stanley of Horden Comrades and Ian Whittaker of Hetton Shepherds A by 2 legs to 1.

Both semi finals went to a deciding leg with Cartwright and Anderson beating Heron and Bland and Carr and Stokoe defeating Hope and Turnbull.

The final proved a thriller when Carr and Stokoe went two ahead. However the two former Singles champions, Anderson and Cartwright recovered to force the decider. Carr and Stokoe failed to upset the odds when Cartwright nailed a 66 checkout.
