SO MR Penney despairs at the
negativity of DFC supporters.
I've got news for him, a lot of
supporters think the same
about the type of football his
sides have produced this
season.
Up until halfway through the
season, I very rarely, in 60 years
of support missed a match. No
way am I going to make a 40-
mile round trip to be bored to
death for 90 odd minutes
watching his team, at home,
defend early leads.
Of the 35-40 players he's used
this season, 90 per cent have
been able to defend first and
foremost. He has signed the
same type of players all season
instead of getting out there and
getting a couple of decent
forwards.
Sorry, but in my opinion his
plan to get automatic
promotion by defending has
backfired.
How come the best player
voted by the fans for last season
has only had a couple of games
this season? I think Neil
Wainwright has had a rough
deal.
Mr Penney, some of us do like
to be entertained, win, lose or
draw, and there has been very
little of that over the past
season.
Are you listening Mr Penney?

NEGATIVE! That's rich coming
from a manager who plays
defensive football at home. The
only reason the team has
scraped into the play-offs is
their "soak up the pressure and
catch them on the break" away
form.
This team is so poor it would
be hard pressed to beat the
team that was relegated to the
Conference in 1989.
Don't start passing the buck
now Penney, blame yourself and
those ex-Doncaster rejects.

AS A female disgruntled
supporter for some time - I was
at Chelsea for our infamous cup
draw - I am incensed by the
manager's accusations of our
pessimism and negativity.
If he thinks the standard of
football that has been served up
this year is adequate, he is sadly
mistaken. I see better in the
park.
We are all sick of him
whining about injuries - he
never mentions all the
suspensions - the team with the
worst disciplinary record in the
Football League - as stated in a
national newspaper.
On several occasions he has
stated he doesn't mind grinding
out 1-0 scores. The people of
Darlington deserve better!
He's stated on several
occasions about the poor team
he inherited, where's the
improvement? He's had more
players mainly on loan, than
some Premier League teams -
only Joe Colbeck broke sweat
for him.
If he was so brilliant at
Doncaster - only his word for it
- why isn't he still there?
We got beat on Boxing Day
and it has been downhill all the
way. A very cold Tuesday night
against Accrington, never seen
worse. Apparently the away
supporters would disagree -
Wycombe, Shrewsbury, Barnet.
They deserve medals for
travelling.
