AS A Sunderland supporter I feel confident that my team has virtually secured safety.
Niall Quinn and Roy Keane are the best things that has happened to this club in my 42 years of supporting them.
Now after all these years I feel that the football world now take SAFC seriously. A far cry from the penny-pinching days of Bob Murray.
We now have a board of directors in Drumville led by the magnificent Quinn who show genuine ambition.
Keano is looking for £40-50 million in the transfer window and I would expect him to get these funds and this is a clear sign of how SAFC operates these days.
In a recent piece in the Irish Times it said Sunderland had infected' Roy Keane, and that his previous clubs Nottingham Forest, Man. Utd and Celtic mean nothing to him now. He also talks about Sunderland in four-five years' time, this to me shows the Irish legend's commitment to Wearside.
For the first time in a lot of years I am looking forward to the forthcoming season in an upbeat mood.
Jim Coates, Sunderland I CAN'T believe Tony Ratton (SHAS, Apr 14) wanting to give Roy Keane another £50 million to spend this close season on players that other clubs don't want.
We have been the laughing stock this season after Keane wasted the other £50 million I thought. Would have known better. The last three managers have all done the same, got shot of the players that win promotion that had plenty of team spirit for players with no spirit at all.
What a waste of money the Academy seems to be. How many ex-Academy players are playing for Sunderland and how much have they made? Very little.
This idea of keep changing the team is getting us nowhere.
As for resting the players after watching them train, I think they want some work.
