Frost claims Catterick meeting

This afternoon's meeting at Catterick has been abandoned due to a frozen track.

Clerk of the course Fiona Needham had planned to inspect the course at 8am but after temperatures dropped to minus 7C overnight, she was left with little choice but to call off the card.

"It got to minus 7C overnight and it froze throughout the night,'' said Needham.

"It wasn't really a hard decision, there was no point hanging around until 8am as were while were forecast to reach 2C, thats not until later on so weve no chance of being raceable in time.''
