I’m heading to Wetherby on Saturday when I think I’ve got a great chance of picking up a winner via Catamaran Du Seuil.

He came from France with a high level of form and he translated that form well on his British debut for Dr Richard Newland, comfortably winning what looked a decent enough novice hurdle at Wincanton. I think a reproduction of that should see him win the totepoolliveinfo.com Novices' Hurdle.

Westendorf should go close in the totepoolracing Follow Us On Twitter Handicap Hurdle. He’s been running well all season and was unlucky not to win at Ffos Las, when stumbling and falling. He then won at Leicester and ran well at Newbury and Hereford after that.

This is his first time in handicap company and it looks a good opportunity.

I can’t shed too much light on my other ride, Pride Of Pemberley in the wetherbyracing.co.uk Standard Open NH Flat Race, other than I won the bumper in which he was fifth at Ffos Las in December.

That bumper has produced some decent performers in recent years and it rode like a decent race.

Buveur D’Air, whom I rode to win on both his starts over fences, is back over hurdles in the Betfred 'Follow Us On Twitter' Contenders Hurdle at Sandown.

Barry Geraghty takes over and they face only three rivals. He won’t have a problem adapting back to hurdles and hopefully this should be a nice confidence booster.

The Champion Hurdle is now being talked about as his Festival aim, and the first I heard about it was reading it in the paper. But it doesn’t come as a surprise given the news of Annie Power missing the race and question marks over Faugheen.

The race has been shaken up a fair bit and a lot can happen between now and March so the Champion Hurdle target makes perfect sense.

I’m at Taunton on Sunday for four rides, all of which have each-way chances, although it’s difficult to single one out.

Sigurd was third to High Bridge last time and is making his first start in handicap company, Hedley Lamarr ran well at Leicester last time, while the David Dennis-trained pair of Wade Harper and Seven Kingdoms could also figure.

I enjoyed a pretty decent day at Doncaster a week ago, with the highlight being Forest Bihan’s win for Brian Ellison in the Grade Two novices’ chase.

It was the first time I’d ridden him and I was most impressed. To get up and win after making such a bad mistake three fences out was the mark of a very good horse. Aside from that error, he jumped well and certainly deserves to take his chance in the Racing Post Arkle.
