Yala Enki, who runs in the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle, has been a star for us this season, winning three times, including the Lanzarote and won nicely at Ascot last time.

He looks to have a decent enough each-way shout at around 33-1. My worry though is that he would prefer softer ground, which he is not going to get.

Qewy was tried over fences a couple of times, but given John Ferguson is retiring this year we think his best chances lie back over hurdles. He was well-fancied for the Supreme last year, having won very easily at Newbury the time before. In the end he finished fifth to Douvan which wasn’t a bad effort, and then went on to be third at Aintree.

If he can repeat that form then he’s not going to be too far away in the Coral Cup, but you don’t need me to tell you just how ultra-competitive this race is.

Any Currency, an old favourite who everyone knows, runs in the Glenfarclas Chase. These cross-country races are his speciality – he was second in this race for the last two years – and age seems to be no barrier for him.

I schooled him on Monday and he seems in great form and you know you will get a great run for your money.

Jaleo is one of my best chances of the week. He was very impressive at Catterick last time and has a reasonable mark going into the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle. He has the right profile for this and I wouldn’t swap him for anything else in the race.

High Bridge represents my best chance of the week in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper. He absolutely annihilated his rivals in his last race at Catterick in December, the form of which has worked out pretty well. I can’t remember a bumper horse giving me that sort of feel before and he’s been saved specifically for this race. I can’t wait to get back on him.
