RACING legend AP McCoy will be on Tyneside this summer to headline a tribute dinner that is being held to honour his career.

McCoy will retire from racing in the next couple of months, bringing the curtain down on a remarkable career that has seen him crowned champion jockey for an unprecedented 20 seasons in a row and ride more than 4,000 winners.

His headline dinner will take place at the Gosforth Park Marriott Hotel, close to Newcastle Racecourse, on Friday, May 22.

McCoy will be joined on stage by Channel Four Racing’s Emma Spencer as he recalls some of the key moments of his career, and talks about some of the best horses he has partnered to victory.

The event will also feature award-winning comedian Paul Boardman, and tables of ten are priced at £600. Single tickets are also available, and anyone interested should contact Graeme Forster on 07769 706611 or Email GForster@grass.uk.com.
