DUKE OF NAVAN should be followed when he makes his chasing bow in the Weddings Here At Carlisle Racecourse Beginners’ Chase at the Cumbria venue.

Nicky Richards has always held this six-year-old in high regard and he impressed many with a fine novice campaign over hurdles.

However, thing did not quite go to plan last term, with Duke Of Navan twice beaten by My Tent Or Yours in the Fighting Fifth and Christmas Hurdles before a fall in the Morebattle at Kelso brought a premature end to his campaign.

He boasts a rating of 140 over hurdles and while that puts him some way below the best performers, if he can translate his ability to chasing, he could be a smart recruit over fences.

Daaree has impressed in winning two of his four starts this term and can keep up the good run by landing a third victory on the bounce in the Download The BetVictor Instabet App Handicap at Kempton.

Saeed bin Suroor’s charge looked pretty smart as a juvenile, winning twice at Chester and Wolverhampton, before spending nearly two years on the sidelines.

He returned to action with a fine third at Newmarket in August and after again hitting the frame at Yarmouth, Bin Suroor wisely switched his attentions to the allweather and Daaree has hardly looked back since.

Bred to excel on such surfaces as he hails from the family of Dubai World Cup winner Almutawakel, he ran down his rivals late in the day over 12 furlongs at Wolverhampton before following up over a slightly shorter trip at Kempton last time.

Daaree again swooped in the closing stages to win by three-quarters of a length to ensure another 6lb rise in the handicap.

However, he clearly has plenty of ability and seemingly thrives on the synthetic surfaces, making him a likely shout here and one who will probably shine at Meydan over the winter.

Lady Cecil enjoyed the defining day of her career so far at Ascot last week and while the Download The BetVictor App Now Maiden Stakes is a more humdrum heat, she will surely be thrilled if Galactic Halo can strike.

Related to the likes of Xaar, Galactic Halo’s paddock value would rise sharply if she could get her head in front on the racecourse and she was not too far off on her debut.

Beaten just over three lengths into fourth, Galactic Halo fell a little short on that occasion at Wolverhampton but should be sharper for the experience.

Its Lady Mary was a bit unfortunate to come up against Prize Exhibit on her latest start back in July but, suitably refreshed after a break, she should be followed in the first division of the BetVictor.com Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.

Winless in three starts to date, she was beaten nine lengths into second by Prize Exhibit, with that one since going on to be placed in Pattern company.

One of those who finished in behind has since gone on to notch up a hat-trick, so those snippits of form give Its Lady Mary a sound appearance here.

Silver Shuffle should feel the benefit of a recent spin on the Flat in the 32Red Casino Handicap Hurdle at Southwell while Area Fifty One is the pick in Ludlow’s Racing Welfare Novices’ Hurdle.
