JOYEUSE found Group One company tough going last time but can get back on track in the Japan Racing Association Sceptre Stakes, one of the feature events on day two of the Ladbrokes St Leger meeting at Doncaster.

Lady Cecil switches back to Group Three level for this seven-furlong heat after Joyeuse finished five and a half lengths behind Garswood on heavy ground at Deauville last month.

Moving up the tree after some decent placed efforts in Group Threes at York and Leopardstowm, Joyeuse was floundering slightly in the final furlong against some seasoned rivals so perhaps deserves a little extra credit for not totally dropping away.

She had previously chased home a fine mare in Ladies Are Forever on the Knavesmire while she was given too much to do when beaten in the Ballyogan Stakes, producing her customary finishing flourish all too late on that occasion.

Joyeuse should appreciate the sizeable field in this event as she likes to sit in behind and while this is certainly a competitive contest, she might just sparkle dropped back in grade once again.

Seal Of Approval endured a nightmare run in the DFS Park Hill Stakes last year, falling after clipping heels with another horse a furlong out and giving Hayley Turner a nasty injury in the process.

The rider may not have chance to right that wrong here as George Baker is now in the plate, but Seal Of Approval appears to be returning to her best just in time to take a starring role on Town Moor.
