ZEBELINI gave Ilka Gansera- Leveque her first winner of the season when outrunning odds of 40-1 in the At The Races Sky 415 Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Ripon.

Possibly helped by oddson favourite Grand Beauty proving reluctant going into the stalls and being withdrawn, the daughter of Zebedee was given a positive ride by Lemos De Souza and she stayed on well to hold Zuzinia by a neck.

The Newmarket-based handler told At The Races: “Racing definitely has it’s ups and downs and that’s a nice change for us as we lost a horse on Sunday and now we have a winner.

“We all had very high hopes for her and a lot of confidence going into this race.

“I thought she was going to be my Royal Ascot filly, but things went wrong for her and she had a growth spurt. I always thought she was nice, and we’ll maybe find her a race at Ayr now given the owners are Scottish based.”

Miss Mullberry was also the recipient of a confident ride, this time by 3lb claimer Sam Jones, when she continued on an upward trajectory in the 21 Engineer Regiment Sapper Conditions Stakes.

Continuing the good form of David O’Meara’s stable, the 3-1 chance was last off the bridle in the five-furlong contest and produced a useful turn of foot to run out a one-and-three-quarter- length winner from Snap Shots.

Mixed Message (9-4) got her supporters off to a great start in the At The Races On Facebook Selling Stakes as she claimed her second win on the bounce.

The Brian Ellisontrained, Dale Swift-ridden filly arrived buoyed by her Redcar success in similar company and she held the fast-finishing Aneedh by a length.

Swift said: “Her win at Redcar has really got her confidence up and once she gets in front she’s tough enough and keeps going.”

Jockey Danny Tudhope picked up a winning spare on Stormardal (7-1) as he gave Ismail Mohammed something to smile about in the attheraces.com City Of Ripon Stakes.

The Michael Raby Memorial Handicap went the way of Janaab (9-1), his first career success in ten British starts.
