NOBLE Mission will be considered for all the top mile-and-a-quarter races, including the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown, after his superb victory in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on Sunday.

The five-year-old brother to the peerless Frankel made every yard of the running in the Group One to defeat Magician by a length and a quarter.

His Curragh triumph put the seal on a golden start to the season for the Prince Khalid Abdullah-owned entire, who had previously won back-to-back Group Threes at Sandown and at Chester.

Lady Cecil, who was recording a first Group One victory as a trainer, reported Noble Mission in fine fettle, with the Eclipse on July 5 a possible objective.

The Warren Place handler said: “We were all thrilled by Noble Mission’s victory in Ireland. It means so much on a number of levels.

“Firstly, I am especially pleased for Prince Khalid, whose decision to keep the horse in training as a fiveyear- old has been rewarded.

“I am delighted, too, for my assistant George Scott and all the staff at Warren Place.

The yard has been buzzing and it is so nice to see that.

“Noble Mission returned to the stable on Monday evening. He seems to have taken his race very well and ate up on Sunday night.

“While we have not decided on his next race, he has earned the right to continue at Group One level. He is already entered in the Eclipse and will be put in other top-class races at a mile and a quarter.

“We wouldn’t rule out returning to a mile and a half, either.

“But we will take a bit of time and make a plan once we’ve discussed options with the Prince and Lord Grimthorpe (owner’s racing manager).”
