SWANSEA CITY boss Bob Bradley has found an ally in Sunderland manager David Moyes as the two relegation rivals prepare to go head-to-head tomorrow.

Moyes has seen the Black Cats climb to within sight of the safety zone after winning three of their last four Premier League games.

While the pressure on the Sunderland chief has eased, it has grown on Bradley who only took over in October. The American has only won one of his games, although that remains the only game the Swans have won in the league since the opening weekend.

The Northern Echo: Bob Bradley

Moyes said: “It shouldn’t be Bob Bradley who loses his job. It should be the person who appointed Bob Bradley. Bob Bradley was brought into the job and it must be the people who made the decision. That would be the way I look at it.

“I think Bob Bradley would have to be given time. If it was Swansea, Sunderland, for example, or some of the other clubs at this end of the table, then they expect a massive turnaround. If anyone thinks that then they would be completely wrong.”

Despite Sunderland’s improved form in recent weeks, Moyes has still had to deal with problems this week.

Duncan Watmore has been ruled out for the season after doing his knee against Leicester, while Yann M’Vila has decided he no longer wants to move to the Stadium of Light in January.

Moyes, who will travel to South Wales later today with his squad, said: “We have people like Adnan Januzaj, Seb Larsson, Wahbi Kharzi, so they are all in contention. It may affect the way we play a little. Maybe the system, we play even. We have to look at a few things. Duncan was an important player for us and maybe when we lose him you realise how much.”

But Moyes was happy to pull out of the expensive deal for Rubin Kazan midfielder M’Vila, who is set to become a free agent in January and had agree a three-and-a-half year deal.

He said: “It’s disappointing to be missing out on a good footballer. But if a footballer doesn’t want to play then it makes it easy.

“We as a club want players who are totally committed to what we are trying to do and that is change things around a bit. We are a little disappointed it hasn’t happened but if a player doesn’t want to come then we can’t do anything about it.”
