SUNDERLAND striker Fraizer Campbell has earned a shock call-up to the England squad for next week's friendly with Holland.

Campbell is the biggest surprise in Stuart Pearce's 25-man party for next Wednesday's game at Wembley.

The Black Cats striker missed the first five months of the season with a serious knee injury, but has been in fine form since his return.

He scored on his first game back, coming off the bench to grab an FA Cup equaliser against Middlesbrough, and followed up with an even more eye-catching strike against Norwich.

Former Middlesbrough duo Stewart Downing and Adam Johnson are also named in today's squad, along with Manchester City defender Micah Richards, who returns from his lengthy exile under Fabio Capello, and Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley.

However, there is no place for the injured John Terry or the seemingly out-of-favour Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard.
