CHARLES N’ZOGBIA’S hopes of securing a permanent contract at Sunderland have been boosted after he was included in the squad for this week’s training camp in France.

N’Zogbia was part of the Black Cats squad that flew out of Newcastle Airport this morning, with new boss David Moyes keen to see him at close quarters over the next few days.

The French midfielder, who is a free agent following the end of his previous deal at Aston Villa, has been training at Sunderland’s Academy of Light following an invitation from former boss Sam Allardyce.

He scored Sunderland’s winner in yesterday’s 2-1 victory at Rotherham, and is hoping to secure a permanent deal on Wearside.

Moyes will make a decision over his future within the next seven days, and is expected to name N’Zogbia in Sunderland’s planned friendlies in France.

The Black Cats are due to take on Stade Nyonnais, Dijon FCO and Montpellier before returning to England next weekend.
