SUNDERLAND boss Sam Allardyce is awaiting Swansea City's response to the club's latest offer for striker Andre Ayew.

Having already had one approach for Ayew rejected, senior Black Cats officials made a second approach yesterday.

They are understood to have offered around £10m, and expressed a willingness to include Fabio Borini as part of any potential deal.

Borini scored six goals in nine Premier League appearances during a loan spell with Swansea in 2011, and while he has started seven of Sunderland's last nine matches, he has clearly been deemed dispensable as Allardyce looks to improve his squad.

Swansea have previously rebuffed all interest in Ayew, who has been spearheading the Welsh club's own survival battle with two goals in his last three matches.

However, new Swans boss Francesco Guidolin is known to be an admirer of his compatriot, Borini, and Sunderland's latest approach is currently the subject of intense debate within the corridors of power at the Liberty Stadium.
