LEEDS UNITED have completed the signing of Sunderland winger Will Buckley for the rest of the year.

Buckley has struggled to break in to Dick Advocaat’s first team plans and he was not even named in the Dutchman’s 25-man Premier League Black Cats squad.

And the 25-year-old, who has trained with the Whites for the last week or so, has made a three-month loan until January 2. He is expected to complete a permanent £1m switch when the transfer window opens in January.

Leeds boss Uwe Rosler said: “He brings pace, directness, goal threat and he’s a good lad. He brings experience in the Championship and experience of playing for a team who challenge at the top of the Championship.”

Advocaat is expected to comment on Buckley’s move this afternoon when he is also sure to be asked to comment on speculation that he could quit his post after tomorrow’s visit of West Ham.

With Sunderland still searching for a first Premier League win after seven games, a report in the Daily Mail this morning has claimed the experience head coach could leave if three points do not arrive against the Hammers.

Burnley’s Sean Dyche and Manchester City coach Patrick Vieira are two of the names to have been linked to the job in the last week alone and Sunderland have distanced themselves from the situation.

But Advocaat is scheduled to hold a pre-match press conference at the Academy of Light at 2pm when this week’s reports will be discussed.
