ADAM Johnson is available for Sunderland’s match at Arsenal on Wednesday night after his court appearance was brought forward by two days.

The £10m former England winger has been charged with three offences of sexual activity with a child under 16 and one of grooming.

The 27-year-old was due to appear at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, which had put his involvement in the Black Cats’ trip to the Emirates Stadium that evening in doubt.

But the hearing has now been brought forward to Monday.

The former Middlesbrough star, of Castle Eden, County Durham, was initially arrested on March 2 and subsequently suspended by his club.

But he then returned to action, featuring several times as Dick Advocaat’s team has battled against relegation from the Premier League.

Sunderland would be guaranteed top-flight football next season before their trip to Arsenal if they beat fellow strugglers Leicester City at the Stadium of Light and former boss Steve Bruce’s Hull City fail to win at Spurs on Saturday.
