SPENNYMOOR TOWN manager Jason Ainsley has appealed to the club's supporters to turn out in force for tonight’s much-awaited game with Darlington.

It will take place the Brewery Field, which was deemed playable following an inspection yesterday, allowing Moors to continue their exhausting quest for a place in the play offs on home soil.

They had an end-to-end game against Kidderminster at Harrogate on Tuesday – the third time that they have played a 'home' game at Harrogate Town in the last ten days.

And with a play off place in sight, Ainsley is hoping that the fans will come for Moors' their first game at the Brewery Field since the 1-0 home win over Leamington on March 22.

“I’m delighted that we’re playing at the Brewery Field,” he said. “When we’ve been playing at Harrogate, the lads haven’t been getting home until midnight.

“I’m delighted where we are in the league at the moment. Spennymoor supporters should come out on Thursday and witness what a good team we are. We’re doing extremely well in our first season and it’s going to be a really great occasion because Darlington have picked up under Tommy and are flying.

“If there’s any game to look forward to, then it’s this one, because Darlington will bring a massive contingent and there’ll be a great atmosphere. It’s going to be like a cup final, and the Brewery Field will be bouncing.

“Darlington are a top club, and their fans and officials have always been nice to me. Both clubs have helped each other, and there’s always been a good camaraderie.”

Ainsley was encouraged by his team’s performance against fourth placed Kidderminster in midweek.

“I thought we deserved a draw at the very least on Tuesday against Kidderminster. We were disappointed that we didn’t win, because it was a much-improved performance. I thought that the effort that the players put in was massive against a full time outfit, and we matched them fitness-wise.

“I don’t think they’ll be suffering from fatigue for this game in front of a 2,000 crowd, and they won’s need any motivation for a game like this. It should be a great occasion.

“This is a relentless league, if you’re not up for every game, then you’ll be punished no matter who you are playing because there are no bad teams in this league. We’re just delighted to be in and around the play offs, and we’re enjoying where we are.”

Moors are seventh in the table, on the same points as Chorley with a worse goal difference but with a game in hand. However, more importantly they are two points ahead of Bradford PA and York City, with three games in hand on each of them.

Ainsley has several injury problems to consider. Former Darlington player Chris Mason came off injured with a knee problem in the first half on Tuesday, while defender Chris Chantler and winger David Foley, who scored in the reverse game earlier in the season, are both carrying knocks. Midfielder Shane Henry filled in at left back during the week, so Ainsley might play him there again.
