Spennymoor are looking for their fifth away league win of the season when they go to Nuneaton in the Vanarama National League North today.

Moors go to Nuneaton on the back of another top class performance in which they beat Chorley last Saturday. The win kept them in fifth place, a point behind Brackley and two behind Blyth, but more importantly four ahead of Tamworth, who occupy the last play off place.

“It’s always nice to go into a game on the back of a good win,” said Ainsley. “We know that Nuneaton are a good strong outfit. We had them watched at Blyth a few weeks ago, and even though they lost 6-3, the game could have finished 6 all because they created that many chances. They were unfortunate not to get a point.

“Our away form is quite good, we’ve had some good wins this season at places like Southport, FC United and Boston, and a good draw last week at Kidderminster, so there’s no reason why we can’t add to that list.

“But we also know that we’ll have to be at our best because this is a very strong league. We need to get the points in the bag, because sooner or later we’re going to suffer a couple of defeats – maybe that’s me maybe a glass half empty sort of person!

“Without a doubt, I would have snapped your hand off if you’d offered me fifth place at the start of the season, and we have to enjoy where we are – but we must continue to work hard.”

Ainsley will choose from a full strength squad for the trip to Warwickshire..

Full time Nuneaton have just appointed Dino Maamria as their new manager as replacement for Tommy Wright, now at Darlington. They are currently fourth bottom, just ahead of FC United.
