Spennymoor Town manager Jason Ainsley says that his side will have to be at their very best when they take on Nantwich in a play off battle at the Brewery Field this afternoon.

Moors are fourth in the table following their excellent midweek away win at Warrington, while Nantwich are second, three points ahead of Moors having played two games more.

Moors are unbeaten in their last five matches, picking up 13 points along the way, and Ainsley said; “Every game seems to be massive at the moment, but Saturday’s game even more so.

“It will be a fantastic occasion against in my opinion, the best team we have faced this season. They beat us 1-0 earlier in the season at their place.

“We have come into form at the right time, but we will have to play to our maximum to win the game. We must make sure that we take our chances when they come along and not make sloppy mistakes at the other end.

“We’re in a good position, but the next week will determine a lot of things for us.”

This is the first of four games in eight days for Moors. After today, they are at Matlock on Tuesday, at home to Ilkeston on Thursday, and then next Saturday away to Sutton Coldfield.

Ainsley, who chooses from a full squad, also wants as many Moors fans as possible come along and support them. “We had a great crowd over 600 for our last home game, and we could do with the same number, if not more, on Saturday. The fans’ backing is really important.”

Nantwich have one of the best away records in the division, with twelve wins on their travels this season. They have gained 40 of their total of 73 points on the road.

League leaders Blyth are at Stafford Rangers, and they need three wins from six games for the title.

Whitby, who are a place and two points behind Spennymoor, are at home to Coalville.
