Marske United joined Stockton Town in the last 16 of the Buildbase Vase when they easily beat Hinckley 5-0 on Saturday.

The game was switched to Billingham Town because Marske’s ground was unfit, and the better playing surface clearly suited Marske, who swept into a four goal half time lead.

Manager Carl Jarrett said; “We bossed the game from the first minute, and the attitude of the players was fantastic. We were very clinical when the chances came along.”

Adam Wheatley fired them into an early lead, then after Hinckley had a man sent off for a last man foul, they went 2-0 up through a Craig Gott penalty. Leon Carling and Chay Liddle made it 4-0 before half time, and in a low key second half, Michael Roberts scored the fifth.

Marske are now at home to Wiltshire side Bradford Town in the next round on 3rd February, when Stockton will be playing Stourbridge Swifts.

Newcastle Benfield agonisingly went out on penalties at Coleshill. They took the lead in stoppage time at the end of normal time, but Coleshill quickly levelled and won the shootout.
