A late goal by Alan Harrison earned Newton Aycliffe a point against Seaham Red Star tonight.

Seaham went close twice through Craig Lynch early in the game, while Ben Wood almost opened the scoring for Aycliffe.

Lynch found his scoring touch with a good shot to open the scoring ten minutes after half time, but right at the death, Harrison fired the equaliser.

Ashington and Whitley Bay drew 1-1. Callum Patton put Whitley into the lead from a good pass by Thibault Charmey, but Ashington levelled through Ben Harmison’s effort.

Chester-le-Street moved off the bottom of the table with a 4-2 away win at Ryhope CW.

Chester led with a goal by Dan McGuire, but Ryhope levelled just before half time through Thomas Bott’s shot into the top corner. However Chester moved up a gear after half time, and Dominic Laws scored twice in three minutes.

Kyle Davis pulled a goal back, but Laws completed his hat trick and gave Chester the points.

Northallerton reached the final of the Ernest Armstrong Cup by beating Billingham Synthonia 2-1.

Northallerton took the lead on 13 minutes with a Tom Atkinson penalty after he was fouled, but Synners levelled on 54 minutes with a header by Conor Winter.

However, Northallerton quickly regained the lead with a header by Jack Proctor, and late in the game Synners had midfielder Nathan Mulligan sent off for two yellows.
