Guisborough know that defeat at Jarrow Roofing today will leave them with a huge task of avoiding relegation.

Guisborough go into the game in third bottom position, eight points and a place below Roofing with victory almost a necessity.

Manager Gary Forster said; “We must take something from this game, even a draw will do because of the number of home games we have remaining.”

Guisborough are missing striker David Onions because of suspension, while Connor Smith is unavailable and defender Liam McPhillips is injured.

Roofing are missing defender Darryl Donnelly because of suspension, while Adam Smith is also out because of injury.

Shildon can reduce the gap on second placed South Shields if they win at second bottom West Allotment, and they will be missing midfielder Anthony Bell because of injury, while another midfielder, Sam Hodgson, will have a late fitness test.

Allotment, who have picked up only four points at home all season, will probably have a squad of 18 to choose from, but recent signing Tony Stephenson and Liam Hudson are both unavailable.

West Auckland have a six pointer at home to Washington, and they will be missing striker Kerry Hedley because of suspension, while defender David Mitchell and midfielder Ross Gardner will both have fitness tests.

West have also re-signed defender John Parker from North Shields, and he will go straight into today’s team. West are currently sixth bottom, two points above Washington and eleven above the drop zone.

Fifth placed Bishop Auckland are at league leaders North Shields, who are unbeaten at home in the league this season. Bishops are without midfielder Priestley Griffiths because of suspension, while midfielder Andre Bennett and defender Ross Colquhoun both return.

Shields include midfielder James Luccock, who has returned to the club after a spell at Dunston, as well as winger Ryan Carr and top scorer Lee Mason after missing the midweek game.

Newton Aycliffe go along the A66 to Penrith, and they will give midfielder Matty Lovegreen, signed from Darlington, his debut, but another midfielder, Corey Nicholson, is out with an ankle injury.

Penrith are missing their top scorer Martyn Coleman, who has scored 22 goals this season, because of suspension Consett are at home to sixth placed Marske United, and they will be missing keeper Sam Guthrie so they have re-signed their former keeper Peter Jeffries. Top scorer Michael Sweet, plus Lewis Gibbons, Jake Stafford and Jordan Nellis are also missing.

Marske who have won their last five matches, welcome Aaron Ramsbottom back into the squad after injury.

Morpeth, who are fourth and with games in hand on all the teams above them, can’t afford to slip up at Ryhope CW, and they are missing defender Chris Reid because of suspension. Ryhope midfielder Danni Lay is missing because of suspension.

Chester-le-Street, who are second bottom, need to win at Sunderland RCA, and they will be without teenager David Latham who is away on County Youth duty.

The RCA, who have replaced departed coach Tommy Butler with Brian Rowe, will definitely be missing top scorer Colin Larkin, while Ross Preston, James Armstrong and Liam McBryde will all have fitness tests. Midfielder Jonny Davis returns to the squad.

Whitley Bay are at home to Dunston UTS, and they are boosted by the return of striker Adam Shanks after injury, but he is unlikely to start. Dunston will probably make changes following their midweek cup defeat at North Shields.

In the second division, second placed Stockton Town are at home to Northallerton, and manager Micky Dunwell welcomes strikers Max Craggs and Tony Johnson back into the squad. Northallerton defender Danny Jones is suspended, but wing backs Shaun Hudson and Marc Kerr both return as well as striker Nicky Martin.

League leaders Team Northumbria are at Hebburn, who this week announced that they could resign from the league at the end of the season. Former Darlington winger Adam Rundle and striker Glen Hargrave are both missing for Hebburn because of injury.

Three clubs are tied on 18 points at the bottom of the table. Esh Winning, who have the worst goal difference of all three, are at Heaton Stannington, and they hope to include new signings Paul Ryder and Jack Stewart in their squad, but Kai Hewitson, Andrew Clarkson and Matthew Allison will be missing.

Darlington RA have a very tough home game against Billingham Town, and manager Peter Mulcaster expects to choose from a full squad, with Andrew Lonsdale returning.

Ryton and Crawcrook, the other club in trouble, are at Willington In the other games, Blyth Town are at home to Alnwick, and Easington face Bedlington.
