West Auckland caretaker manager Mark Hudson takes charge of the team for the final time at home to Padiham in the FA Vase this afternoon.

Hudson took over as caretaker manager following the departure of Andy Campbell last weekend and was in charge for the home game against South Shields on Tuesday night.

And now the club have moved quickly to appoint former Sunderland full back and Whitby manager Darren Williams along with Steve Skinner as joint managers.

Striker Adam Burnicle is missing because of suspension, while there will be fitness tests for defenders Carl Jones, Michael Laws and John Tiffoney. Midfielder Dave Edwards should return.

Stockton Town are hoping to cause a major upset at Whitley Bay.

The Wearside League champions, who beat Eccleshill in the previous round, couldn’t have asked for a much tougher tie than at four times champions Whitley Bay.

Town are going there full of confidence after an unbeaten start to their league season, and manager Micky Dunwell said; “We will be going there to try and express ourselves, and maybe cause an upset.”

Skipper Steve Roberts is unavailable, while Michael Arthur will be in goal because Liam Jordan is injured.

Billingham Synthonia have a tricky away game at Heaton Stannington, and they will be without their first choice keeper Jack McLaren who is ineligible, suspended midfielder David Hillerby and striker Austin Johnston because of injury. Midfielder Chay Liddle and striker Sam Garvie both return.

Consett, who were knocked out of the FA Cup in midweek, are at home to Pickering, and have several injury doubts arising from the midweek game. Midfielders Lewis Gibbons and Dan Hawkins, defender Matty Slocombe and striker Michael Sweet are all struggling.

Chester-le-Street are at home to Norton, and manager Colin Wake will have a full squad, so he will probably make changes to the team that lost heavily at Seaham last Saturday. Norton, who beat Hebburn 3-0 in midweek, will have a full squad to choose from.

Easington, going well in the ENL second division, are at home to Ashington and hope to sign a new striker in time for the game, while Reece Kenney and Shaun Smith both return to the squad. Ashington will be missing Damien Stevens, Scott Blandford and James Taylor.

Esh Winning have a tough home tie against South Shields, one of the clubs expected to do well, and they will have a full squad with the exception of injured striker Jonny Yip.

Newcastle Benfield, who have made the Vase their top priority this season are at home to Liversedge and they expect to choose from a full squad.

Ryhope CW are at Ryton and Crawcrook, and they will be missing keeper Chris Rookes, centre halves Leon Ryan and Matty Stephenson, loan signings Harvey Saunders and Chris Bell and forward Kyle Davis.

Jarrow Roofing are at Northallerton, and they welcome back Dan Kirkup after suspension, while Kris Hughes and Tom Bailey will both have fitness tests.

Wearside League Stokesley have a tough away tie at Barnoldswick, and manager Craig Winter has eight players missing for various reasons.
