Shildon took a big step towards the ENL title when they won 4-0 at one of their main rivals Morpeth last night.
Morpeth had an early effort cleared off the line before Shildon took the lead on 20 minutes when Billy Greulich-Smith broke away and lobbed the advancing keeper.
They went 2-0 up with an Anthony Bell penalty after Greulich-Smith was fouled, and just before half time Morpeth were reduced to ten men when Michael Hall was sent off for two yellows.
Jonny Davis tapped in the third from close range to make it 3-0 at the start of the second half, and Greulich-Smith finished Morpeth off with a shot from just inside the box.
The result means that Shildon are now 22 points clear of second placed Marske, and 23 ahead of Morpeth.
