Newton Aycliffe have been given a home tie in the third round draw of the FA Vase, with the possibility of several all Northern League clashes also featuring.

Aycliffe, who had a good win last Saturday at NWCL leaders Colne, have been drawn at home to the winners of the delayed tie between Atherton Collieries or Chadderton on December 12th.

Newton Aycliffe manager Peter Dixon said; “We are happy to be at home.”

Sunderland RCA, who also won away last Saturday, will be at home to the winners of the tie between Tadcaster Albion and Worksop. Tadcaster are one of the fancied teams from the NCEL.

Sunderland RCA manager Marty Swales said; “I’m pleased wit ha home draw. I hope it stirs a bit of interest around Sunderland with us being the last team from the area left in. We will need to do some homework on them.”

There is one definite all ENL tie, between Dunston UTS and Seaham Red Star, while there are possibilities of two more.

Dunston UTS manager Billy Irwin said; “We’re happy to be at home, but we must be on our game.”

Seaham Red Star manager Mark Collingwood said; “We look forward to playing them. We will go into the game as the underdog, but we were also the underdog in previous games in the competition against Jarrow Roofing and Durham. The pressure is on them, they will be expected to progress, we are just enjoying the ride.”

If Marske beat Runcorn Linnets in their delayed game, then they will be at home to their neighbours Guisborough or Team Northumbria.

If Morpeth win their delayed tie against 1874 Northwich, then they will be away to the winners of Consett or South Shields.

The draw as it affects the north east clubs is: Marske or Runcorn Linnets v Guisborough or Team Northumbria, Sunderland RCa v Tadcaster Albion or Worksop, Newton Aycliffe v Atherton Collieries or Chadderton, Consett or South Shields v Morpeth or 1874 Northwich, North Shields or Ashington v Runcorn Town, Dunston UTS v Seaham Red Star.

Games to be played on December 12th.
