FA Vase second qualifying round.
Bishop Auckland 7 Holker Old Boys 1.
Bishop Auckland’s new signing Fred Woodhouse set all sorts of scoring records when he bagged six on his debut for Bishops in the FA Vase against Holker Old Boys tonight.
There was no indication of the rout to come in a goalless first half hour, but Bishops took the lead on 36 minutes with a header by the unmarked Woodhouse from a corner. It was 2-0 right on half time when the Holker keeper fumbled a cross by Ian Ward straight to David Palmer who scored easily.
Woodhouse completed his hat trick in the space of two minutes in the second half. He chipped the keeper for 3-0, and then scored from close range.
He made it 5-0 on 72 minutes from a Palmer cross, then scored another in off the post. He continued to destroy Holker by curling the seventh after he cut in from the right on 78 minutes, before Rushton pulled one back with a header.
