Newton Aycliffe manager Peter Dixon wants the FA Cup attitude from his players when they take on Barnoldswick in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase today.

Aycliffe held National League North side North Ferriby to a draw in the FA Cup last weekend before going out in a midweek replay, and Dixon said; “We need to take the same mental application into this game as we did for the FA Cup last week. We have a more realistic chance of success in the Vase, because we won’t be lining up against the calibre of teams like North Ferriby every week."

Central defender Dan Mitton is injured, so Aycliffe will be close to full strength.

West Auckland, who had some success in the FA Cup earlier in the season, go over to Darwen, and they welcome back keeper Robbie Stockburn plus full backs Lee Farrington and Dan Jones into their squad.

Darlington RA are at home to Hall Road Rangers from the Northern Counties East League, and with several players returning from holiday and suspension, manager Warren Moncur will have a 23 man squad available.

Sunderland RCA are at home to Bridlington, and have several players out injured, including former Hartlepool striker Colin Larkin and on loan Sunderland keeper Andy Brown. Callum Hope and Clayton Davies will both have fitness tests, while Liam Hatch, Steve Callen, James Armstrong and Clayton Davies will all return.

Hebburn host Yorkshire Amateurs, and are missing two keepers, Phil Hubery and Phil Holgate, so Gary Rogers will play in goal. Six other players are missing because of injury, so their squad is stretched.

In the all ENL ties, Billingham Synthonia, who are unbeaten in their last nine matches, are at home to Morpeth, and they will be without midfielder Reece Kenney, as he is a loan player and unable to play in the Vase. Skipper Stephen Huggins is expected to return.

Four times winners Whitley Bay have a local derby at home to West Allotment, and their recent signing Michael Bell, could make his debut against one of his previous clubs. Defender Micky Laws could also be in the squad after recovering from injury.

Tow Law take on Stokesley for the second successive Saturday, having won 8-1 in the league last week. Karl Turner has returned to the club and makes his debut, while skipper Glen Caygill returns to the squad.

Durham City are at Bedlington, and manager Ian Chandler recalls defender Paul Wardle, but another defender, Dan Dillon, is out with a broken leg, while Moussa Bakhti is doubtful. Bedlington beat Durham in the league earlier in the season.

Norton take on Newcastle Benfield and include new signing Brad Staunch from Billingham Town, while manager Deano Browne could include two new signings. Defender Dale Mulligan is still out with a hamstring injury. Benfield manager Steve Bowey will choose from a full squad for the first time this season.

South Shields and Washington, who are going well in their respective divisions, meet at Filtrona Park. Shields welcome back Julio Arca, Darryl Hall, Adam Sakr and Robbie Briggs, but David Foley is still injured. Washington, who were beaten by the last kick of the game against Marine in the FA cup in midweek, will be at full strength There’s a tasty local derby between Jarrow Roofing and Seaham Red Star. Roofing include new signing Bruno Pilatos and Peter Greenwell in their squad, but Jamie Marshall is unavailable, but Seaham will give fitness tests to several players who picked up knocks in their midweek defeat at Bishop Auckland.

Easington, who are having a great season on their return to the Northern League, are in the mood to cause a shock against Ashington. However they will be without the injured Michael Watson, while they will give fitness tests to Liam Hodgson, Shaun Smith, and Liam Gill. Ashington have six players missing because of injuries, so manager Steve Harmison might make a new signing.

Chester-le-Street are at home to Heaton Stannington, and they will be almost at full strength except for penalty expert Craig Marron who is injured, and midfielder Jack Honour who is unavailable.

In the other games, Whickham are at home to Garforth, and Team Northumbria are at Nelson.
