Newton Aycliffe’s dreams of FA Cup glory ended when they were beaten 3-0 by North Ferriby in their second qualifying round replay tonight.

Ferriby put the Aycliffe defence under early pressure, and Nathan Hotte and Liam King were both off target.

The home side broke through on 30 minutes when Hotte found space to head past James Winter from a corner.

However, Aycliffe nearly levelled with a powerful shot by Dennis Knight, but Ferriby keeper Adam Nicklin pulled off a good save.

Aycliffe kept battling away, but they had it all to do on 69 minutes when Curtis Bateson’s shot was blocked by Winter, but Danny Clarke scored from the rebound.

And Ferriby scored from another rebound a few minutes from the end, when King’s shot dropped for Clarke to score again.

Washington were agonisingly beaten 3-2 in the last minute of extra time by Marine in their FA Cup replay

Washington stunned their visitors when Johnny Butler pounced on a mistake in the Marine defence and scored after 11 minutes.

Washington held their own for the rest of the first half, although Marine hit the bar just before half time.

Joe Walton almost made it 2-0 on the hour, but the Marine keeper made a point blank save. However, the visitors equalised on 75 minutes when Lloyd Elams scored following a breakaway.

Greg Swansbury nearly headed the winner with two minutes of normal time left, but Peers put Marine in front on 106 minutes.

Within two minutes though Washington equalised through Micky Tait from a corner.

Penalties looked a certainty until Peers got the winner with almost the last kick of the game, a drive from the edge of the box.

Guisborough moved into the third place in the ENL First Division with a 4-3 away win at Ashington.

Peter Bulmer gave Guisborough the lead on the half hour mark when he sidefooted in but Dylan Williamson equalised just a minute later from six yards.

Curtis Round restored Guisborough’s lead soon after half time with an effort from outside the box, but again Ashington equalised, this time through Lee Scott’s header.

Guisborough took the lead a third time on 64 minutes with a Danny McWilliams free kick into the top corner, then Round dribbled through and scored the fourth.

However, Ashington still pulled one back through Scott from the penalty spot.

Marske beat Penrith 1-0 at Mount Pleasant After a goalless first half, Nathan Mulligan put Marske into the lead from a Glen Butterworth pass. Penrith had keeper Josh Richardson dismissed for a foul late in the game.

Consett drew 1-1 at home with West Allotment.

After a goalless first half, Dale Pearson gave Allotment the lead from the penalty spot after a foul by Consett keeper Peter Jeffries, but Consett levelled when Luke Sullivan headed in a Dean Briggs free kick.

In the second division, leaders Chester-le-Street won 2-1 at Hebburn.

Chester took the lead through Michael Hepplewhite’s effort, but Hebburn levelled in the second half through Channon North. Scott Heslop got the winner for Chester with ten minutes left, his 14th league goal of the season.

Promotion chasing South Shields won 1-0 at Whickham, Warren Byrne put Shields in front midway through the second half with a shot on the turn.

Alnwick beat Tow Law 3-0. Tom MacPherson and Jamie Dixon scored for Alnwick in the first half, then Brad McLelland scored the third early in the second half.

Ryhope CW and Ryton and Crawcrook shared the points in a 2-2 draw.
