Norton manager Andy Campbell says that his side must keep their nerve in order to win promotion.

Norton go into today’s away game at Chester-le-Street in second place in the table, seven points ahead of fourth placed Team Northumbria, with whom they drew last week.

“I was disappointed that we didn’t beat them, but at least the point was one more than our target. We know that we need to pick up quite a few more than the 69 from last season when we finished sixth in order to win promotion.

“We have a tricky six week period coming up, so if we’re still the same position at the end of those matches, then we might be pretty close.

“I don’t think we’ve got any chance of winning the title, I think it’s Seaham’s to lose. They’re ahead of everybody else by a country mile. They tore us to pieces at their place, and even though we beat them at home, they were without several players. I watched them play last week, and there’s plenty of quality in the squad.”

Campbell has been in charge for three seasons, and he’s changed the team’s style of play in that time.

“I think now we play some excellent football. We like to play from the back, and try to entertain. We’ve got a good set of lads to help us to do so.”
