Consett are looking for a new manager after long-serving Kenny Lindoe stepped down.

With the Steelmen 12th in the table, Lindoe wishes to resign, brining to an end a decade’s service, though he will prepare the team until a new manager is appointed.

The club has revealed that Lindoe discussed giving up the hotseat with chairman Frank Bell at the end of this season - his tenth in charge - but after the club’s exit from the FA Vase at North Shields on January 17, the move has been brought forward.

Lindoe will not sever his links with the club, however, as he is to take up a role which shall see him become responsible for developing young players and forging links around the North-East and beyond. The Steelmen plan to start a reserve side next season, as well as entering the FA Youth Cup, and Lindoe will be instrumental in the recruitment of players.

Consett’s next match is at Celtic Nation on Saturday.
