Consett came from behind to beat Sunderland RCA 2-1 at Belle View.

After Luke Sullivan had two efforts cleared off the line, the RCA took the lead when Tony Coe won possession in midfield, ran through and beat Consett keeper Barry Poskett. But Consett levelled on 75 minutes when Josh Gray scored with a 25 yard screamer, and with three minutes left Michael Mackay hit the winner.

Whitley Bay beat Jarrow Roofing 2-1 at Hillheads.

Whitley took the lead on 16 minutes when Robbie Bird crossed for Peter Watling to head home and they made it 2-0 a minute after half time when Dave Berry scored with a deflected free kick.

Roofing replied when Malky Morien fired home a pass from Dan Kirkup.

Benfield got the better of Celtic Nation by 5-4 after being 3-1 down at one point.

In the second division, Seaham went five points clear at the top of the table with a 2-0 away win at Hebburn. They took the lead after 2 minutes with an own goal, and Adam Johnston got the second four minutes after half time.

Chester-le-Street won 1-0 at Ryhope CW, Scott Heslop scoring in the second half.

The closest either side came to scoring in the first half was a shot by Craig Hughes of Ryhope that hit the bar.

Heaton Stannington beat Billingham Town 1-0 with a second half goal by Brian Dodsworth. Both sides had a man sent off, Lee Johnson of Heaton and Harry Taylor of Town.
