Newton Aycliffe are hoping to climb further away from the relegation zone on Saturday at home to Jarrow Roofing.

Aycliffe have picked up seven points from the last nine – all away from home -- to climb up to seventh from bottom.

Manager Peter Dixon includes another new signing who was with him at West Auckland – former Carlisle midfielder Steve Skinner – and says; “We must continue our improvement. There is still plenty of work to do.” Striker Ashley Coffey also comes back into the squad.

Roofing, who are unbeaten in their last eight league matches to climb up to seventh are without injured trio Andy Hunter, Paul Gardiner and Bry Johnson, but Anth Myers and Corey Barnes both return.

Roofing striker John Campbell is up against his old West Auckland manager.

West Auckland can go six points clear at the top if they win at Newcastle Benfield, and manager Anth Smith will choose from a full squad after resting several players for the win over Hartlepool in midweek. Benfield, who are sixth bottom, will give top scorer Paul Brayson a late fitness test, along with defenders Steve Tobin and Carl Paterson. Keeper Andy Grainger is unavailable, so Sam Bushby replaces him. Defender Richie Slaughter, signed from Ashington, will probably make his return debut.

Dunston UTS can go joint second if they beat Penrith at the UTS stadium, and they will give fitness tests to defenders Dave Scorer and Dave Coulson, while midfielder Gary Ormston is unavailable and winger Lee McAndrew is recovering from a hernia.

Durham City, who are in 12th place, are at home to Morpeth, and they add Reece Noble, Mark Cook and Mark Baitey to the squad that beat Annfield Plain 6-1 in midweek. City have lost just once in seven home games this season.

Ashington, who are at fourth bottom Celtic Nation, are without injured striker Marc Walton, while defender Richard Flynn will have a fitness test. The Nation are without striker Matthew Read, but five players return after missing last week’s game.

In the second division, Darlington RA, who lost for the first time in 14 games last week, are hoping to bounce back at home to Chester-le-Street. However, several players face fitness tests, while striker Freddie Huscroft is definitely out because of injury picked up at Team Northumbria last week. Chester are without defender Jordan Fraser, otherwise they are at full strength.

Hebburn are hoping to stop their recent run of bad league results against the leaders Team Northumbria, and they include striker Josh Allen, signed from Washington.

The teams drew 3-3 in their previous fixture, with three players sent off.

Norton, who are in second place, are at home to Northallerton and are without Mitch Morris and John Seaton, while striker Karl Charlton is doubtful. Striker Gary Mitchell and midfielder Jack Proctor both return to the squad. Norton are unbeaten in eight home league games. Northallerton are without suspended defender Colin Anderson.

Tow Law, who have slipped to third bottom, are at Thornaby with three new signings in their squad – defender Paul Greenwell and midfielder Elliott Cutts from Crook, and midfielder Joe Grant from Brandon. Lewis Harrison and Gareth Ayers return, but Simon Ord is unavailable. Thornaby include new signing Jason Moneyman , while strikers Jamie Clarke and Stephen Morrison.

Second bottom Esh Winning, who haven’t won since September 10th, tackle Heaton Stannington at Waterhouses and they include three new signings, Dean Sinclair, Dan Pearson and Paul Basey. Heaton, who are in fifth place, have a full squad apart from Mike Creswick, who has work commitments.

Bottom of the table Brandon are at home to Billingham Town, and new manager Paul Tunstall misses the game because of a prior commitment.

Willington will give fitness tests to Aidan Goodey and Matthew Mounter before their home game with Washington, but Michael Gibson and Jack Patton are both injured.

Washington, who scored nine last Saturday and also beat Dunston in midweek, add five players to their squad, including top scorer Mark Davison. Defenders Greg Swansbury and Paul Wardle are both missing.

Birtley have a local derby at home to Ryton and Crawcrook, and they include new signings Kraig Wilkinson from Billingham Town and hopefully Peter Bryson from Seaham Red Star. They still have four players missing because of injury Birtley boss Tony Boakes was previously at Ryton.

Stokesley, who are at Whickham, will be without Ged Richardson who scored twice last week, but Ste Roberts and Alex Dougall both return. Whickham are without Mark Pattison because of suspension, plus John Martin and Mark Fitzpatrick because of work. Tom Soutar is missing because of a head injury.

South Shields, who had two men sent off in a bad tempered midweek cup tie against Easington, go to Alnwick.
