Shildon will have a local derby with Gateshead in the first round proper of the FA Cup if they overcome Norton United in their fourth qualifying round replay on Wednesday night.
Shildon fans watched the tv with baited breath as the draw progressed – there was the possibility of a repeat away tie at Notts County as there was in 2003 – and they were handed a possible local derby with Conference club Gateshead.
Shildon manager Gary Forrest said; “It will be a difficult tie, because Gateshead are going well in the Conference. Hopefully if we get through, there should be a crowd of around 1500, because they should bring quite a few with them."
