Shildon have signed former Newcastle midfielder Mark Doninger – and he could make his return debut in their big FA Cup clash at Norton United this weekend.

The Railwaymen have received international clearance for the 25 year old from Australia, and he is almost certain to play some sort of part in the match against the EvoStik First Division South side, especially as both clubs are allowed to put seven subs on the bench.

Shildon manager Gary Forrest said; “Mark has been playing in Australia for Perth Glory, but he can’t get a work permit so he’s returned to the north east. He has the ability to score goals, which will be a big help if he comes off the bench.”

The Railwaymen will be without defender Darren Craddock and midfielder Danny Moore, who are both suspended.
