Steve Skinner will take temporary charge of West Auckland when they face Durham City at the Seagrave Stadium on Saturday.

Former Carlisle pro Skinner, who joined the club from Celtic Nation during the summer and also resigned as chairman of that club, agreed to be caretaker following the shock resignation in midweek of Peter Dixon.

Summer signing Jordan Laidler is missing because of injury, while defenders Adam Wilkinson and Jonny Gibson both return from holidays.

Tickets will be on sale at today’s game for next Saturday’s FA Cup tie with Darlington, but the game is not all ticket.

Durham, who are second in the table with three wins from three games, are missing defender Ross Wilkinson and midfielder Steve Stewart.

Crook Town have a new manager in Nick Harrison, who stepped in after Paul Bennett quit in midweek for personal reasons. He took charge for the 2-1 defeat at Durham in midweek, and was given the job on a permanent basis by chairman Ian Hirst. Midfielder Adam Pinkney is unavailable, while defenders Scott Donaldson and Ian Maddison are both injured.

Opponents Ashington are without midfielder Kyle Oliver, but they have signed Phil Lumsden from Newcastle Benfield.

At the top of the table, third placed Shildon go to Jarrow Roofing, and manager Gary Forrest chooses from a full squad. Roofing include new signing Peter Leven who played as a pro at Oxford, but are without striker John Campbell and defender Corey Barnes because of injury Bishop Auckland, boosted by their FA Cup win in midweek against Sunderland RCA, are at home to Whitley Bay, and manager David Bayles will be without striker Kyle Davis, who scored one of the goals in the FA cup win at Sunderland RCA in midweek.

Newton Aycliffe are at Consett, and they welcome back Richie Langthorne, Connor Lowes and Martin Young. Consett could be unchanged.

Marske, who are top of the ENL First Division, are at home to Morpeth, and manager Carl Jarrett welcomes back keeper Dan Molyneux and defender Luke Johnson. Morpeth welcome back defender Matty Grieve while Michael Hall and Stephen Forster are both unavailable.

Guisborough are at Newcastle Benfield looking to bounce back from their midweek defeat in the FA Cup. Midfielder Chay Liddle and striker Nathan Jameson both return, but defender Peter Bulmer and striker Matt McQueeney are both missing.

Benfield are without striker Stephen Baptiste, while there will be a fitness test for Jonny Fenwick.

Billingham Synthonia are at home to Penrith, and manager Lee Tucker will be missing several players with Matthew Osmond and Stephen Gibson the latest to be added to the unavailable list. Penrith have lost both their opening league games, conceding ten goals in the process.

Sunderland RCA, who lost in the FA cup in midweek, are at home to Dunston UTS and they are without midfielders Tony Coe and Lewis Wood, while defender Danny Wray and midfielder Joe Hughes will have a fitness tests. Callum Patton is missing because he is having a trial with a club in Sweden. Dunston will be missing defender Stephen Harrison and striker Danny Craggs because of injury.

West Allotment, who have won both their away league games so far, are at Celtic Nation, and they have Chris Douglass, Michael Bell and Dean Lee all injured, while player-manager Paul Stoneman, Glen Ford and Liam Anderson are all doubtful. The Nation are without three of their more experienced players – Jonny Allan, Lee Hoolickin and Tyran Taylor.

North Shields make the short trip to Bedlington, and they have doubts over keeper Michael Robinson and defender Joe Elliott, while midfielder James Luccock and defender Stuart Donnison are both unavailable. Bedlington hope to include two new signings, while Stephen Young, Ross Dixon and Sam Walton are all unavailable. Bedlington have also made former Darlington defender Joe Kendrick available for transfer.

In the second division, another caretaker manager, Chris Lax, takes charge of Stokesley at home to Hebburn. Full back Matty Crossen plays his last game before returning to Marske, while he will be missing Danny Jones, Adam Taylor and Gerard Richardson. However, Greg Peel and Sean Redford both return, while Adam Cunningham has moved from Northallerton. Hebburn are without Chris Smith, but defender Ally Downey is doubtful Fifth placed Northallerton are at home to Willington and manager Peter Mulcaster adds Mark Hemingway to a full squad. Willington include new signing Mark Bell, but Reece Marshall, Michael Gibson and Aidan Goodey are all missing. There are also fitness tests for Dean Hansom and Jake Cairns.

Third bottom Washington, who are without a league win so far, are at Alnwick and are without suspended midfielder Michael Coghlan and unavailable defender Paul Wardle.

Pre season favourites Seaham Red Star, who have lost twice in three league games, are at home to Billingham Town and manager Mark Collingwood will make changes after their 4-1 defeat against Thornaby in midweek. Town manager Darren Trotter expects to choose from a full squad.

Darlington RA, who won their first league game of the season in midweek, are at South Shields, and they will give striker Freddie Huscroft a fitness test, while Jordan Hanratty, Phil New and Phil Caley all come back into contention. Shields welcome back six players who missed the midweek defeat at Northallerton, but David Halliday and Kyle Houshby both return.

Norton, who are seventh, are at home to Heaton Stannington, and they will be missing Jack Proctor, Marcus Laing, Tom Bligh and Dale Mulligan all missing, but striker Nicky Martin is doubtful. The Stann, who have only won once so far this season, are without Richie Hoggins and Gary Dixon, while Andy Robertson will have a fitness test.

Birtley, who have had a great start with three wins in four games, are at home to the league leaders Team Northumbria, and manager Tony Boakes will be missing five players, but Kai Hewitson returns. TN have won each of their first four home league games and are three points clear of Birtley.

Chester-le-Street have a local derby at home to Whickham, and they will be missing nine players because of injury and work, but Ben Johnson and Michael Allsopp both return. Manager Colin Wake could therefore make at least one new signing before the game. Whickham are missing Levi Osman, Andy Farrey and Tom Souter, while three others will have fitness tests, and Mark Fitzpatrick and Jack Moulden both return.

Ryhope CW, who scored five in midweek, face Brandon and they will be missing Nathan O’Neill, Paul Braithwaite, Stephen Francis and James Cook, but skipper Phil Hall returns.

Thornaby, on the back of a good win against Seaham in midweek, are at Ryton and Crawcrook, and they will be missing Lee Bythway and Matty Robinson, but Stephen Morrison returns. Defender Ian Bishop has been released.
