Former Sunderland and Darlington midfielder Brian Atkinson has been appointed the new assistant manager of Spennymoor.
Atkinson, who possesses several coaching badges, was assistant manager of Newton Aycliffe for five seasons until he left in October, and takes over from Perry Briggs, who left the club a month ago.
Former Darlington centre half Steve Foster, who has sat on the bench alongside manager Jason Ainsley in the last two games, will be player-coach. The club made the decision after receiving over ten applications
