West Auckland produced an excellent performance to beat promotion chasing Marske United 3-1 tonight.

West took the lead after two minutes, when Aaron Wearmouth was brought down by Marske defender Josh Rowbotham, and Nathan Fisher scored his 40th league goal of the season.

Marske keeper Robbie Dean pulled off a good save from an Adam Mitchell free kick, while Mitchell also fired just wide.

Dean made another good stop from another Mitchell free kick, but he had no chance from another penalty on the hour again taken by Anthony Bell after the Fisher was pulled down.

Fisher then showed his quality again three minutes when he turned quickly in the box and fired past Dean for the third. Mikey Roberts pulled a goal back with a shot into the top corner Marske remain twelve points behind leaders Morpeth with seven games in hand.

Crook are still in relegation trouble in the second division after they lost 4-2 at home to Easington, after pulling back to level at 2-2 with twelve minutes left.
