West Auckland crushed second bottom Washington 7-1 at Darlington Road in the ENL tonight and are now third in the table.
Nathan Fisher put them ahead from a pass by Anthony Bell, but Harry Wood quickly equalised from the edge of the area.
Dan Parker headed West back in front from a corner, then Fisher made it 3-1 in a goalmouth scramble. Bell chipped the keeper from a Fisher pass for 4-1, and Fisher completed his second hat trick in four days when he fired home just on half time.
Arran Wearmouth scored the sixth on 51 minutes with a low shot, then Fisher had a penalty saved. Bell added the seventh with a shot that went in off the post.
Consett are now five points clear in second place after they beat Jarrow Roofing 3-2 at Belle View.
In the second division, Billingham Town striker Ashley Lavan scored a hat trick in the first half hour on their way to a 6-1 win over Jarrow.
