Shildon moved into third place in the ENL First Division tonight with a comfortable 4-0 away win at Penrith.
Shildon took the lead in the opening minutes with a good finish by Adam Burnicle, then Billy Greulich-Smith headed the second on 8 minutes, his sixth goal in five games.
Jack Blackford, signed on loan from Hartlepool, added the third with a good effort halfway through the first half, and Shildon stayed in control until a few minutes after half time when Dan Groves slotted in the fourth.
In the Ernest Armstrong Cup, Crook Town lost 4-1 at home to Blyth.
Blyth took the lead on 38 minutes with an effort by Sam Norris that went in off Crook’s Darren Kokes, then John Parker got the second from a corner on 56 minutes. Ryan McGorrigan dribbled through and made it 3-0, then Kyle Oliver finished the away team’s scoring.
Chris Emms scored a late consolation from the spot for Crook.
