Marske won their much-delayed FA Vase first round tie by 3-2 at Darwen tonight.

Darwen had a man sent off in the opening minutes for a foul on Chay Liddle, and even though Marske had all the pressure and the chances they couldn’t break through.

Darwen stunned Marske by taking the lead just after half time, but Marske levelled through Craig Gott from the penalty spot.

Darwen went back in front with a long range effort, but Danny Earl set up James Fairley to equalise on 76 minutes. Fairley then dribbled through and scored the winner.

In the Durham Challenge Cup, Billingham Synthonia beat Willington in a penalty shootout.

Former Synners player Conor Winter put Willington in front, but Synners equalised with a Jordan Jewson strike, and then Woodier put them ahead with a 25 yarder. However, sub Matty Moffat forced a penalty shootout, which Synners won.

Darlington RA gave Stockton Town a big scare, coming back from 3-0 down to force a penalty shootout.

But the RA hit back after half time. Sam England pulled one back with a low shot, then Jim Wilson added the second from 20 yards. Dominic Joynes volleyed the equaliser.

Stockton won the shootout 4-3.
