Shildon came from behind to win their local derby against Bishop Auckland 3-2 at Dean Street tonight.

The Railwaymen were well on top in the first half, and only had a 23rd minute header by Billy Greulich-Smith to how for their efforts, because Bishops keeper Scott Pocklington pulled off several good saves.

But two minutes after half time Bishops levelled when an Ian Ward was header was blocked, and Andy Johnson pounced to score from the loose ball.

Adam Burnicle hit the post for Shildon, before Bishops went into the lead, when Johnson turned well and beat Nick Liversedge.

But Greulich-Smith then pounced twice in four minutes late in the game to give Shildon the points and put them into sixth place in the table.

Bishops have dropped into the bottom four because Guisborough beat Whitley Bay 2-1 at the King George. Steven Roberts and Bradley Mills scored for them in the first half, with Alex Kempster replying after half time.

In the second division, Esh Winning lost 3-1 at home to Bedlington, Connor Halpin scoring for them when they were already 3-0 down.

In the league cup Crook lost 5-1 at home to Newcastle Benfield, for whom Paul Brayson scored a hat trick and Scott McCarthy got the other two. Matthew Stephenson levelled for Crook at one point.

In the Ernest Armstrong Cup, Brandon lost 2-1 at home to West Allotment after taking an early lead, plus they also had two men, Jason White and Steven Turnbull, sent off.

Darlington RA lost 2-1 at home to Easington, who led with goals by Liam Adamson and Jay Martin, before Mark Sims pulled a goal back in stoppage time.
