Ten man Bishop Auckland set up a local derby with Spennymoor after beating Jarrow Roofing 4-3 in their FA Cup preliminary round replay last night.

The sides shared eight goals on Saturday, and the goal glut continued straight from the kick off. Bishops took the lead after just 4 minutes with a Danny Brunskill shot, and they went 2-0 up on 10 minutes when Kieran Megran fired into the top corner from the penalty spot after Johnny Butler was fouled. But Roofing pulled one back quickly when Jonathan Wright lobbed Scott Pocklington from the edge of the area. It was 2-2 on the half hour when Lewis Teasdale scored from a Wright cross, and then Roofing took the lead through Dan Kirkup from a corner. But Bishops levelled on the half time whistle with a header from close range by Butler .

The second half was short of goals until nine minutes from the end, when Butler had a goal disallowed. Bishops were then reduced to ten men when defender Chris Lawson was shown his second yellow, but undaunted Butler cracked in the winner four minutes into extra time.

Newcastle Benfield pulled off a giantkilling by beating EvoStik League Kendal 4-0.

Benfield took the lead after 5 minutes through Mike Riley from a Paul Brayson lay off, and they went 2-0 up on 20 minutes when Nathan Jack crossed from the left for Brayson to head home.

It was 3-0 on 33 minutes with a Brayson penalty following a foul, and three minutes later, Jack scored a superb fourth when he started a run inside his own half, and finished it with a 35 yarder into the top corner. Benfield are now at home to Bridlington in the next round.

In the league, Marske are back on top of the table after beating Whitley Bay 4-0.

Marske took the lead after 15 minutes when Jamie Owens scored from a Josh MacDonald cross, and they could have added further goals until Josh MacDonald raced clear and slotted in the second. Freddie Woodhouse scored the third and Owens completed the scoring a minute from time.

Consett hammered West Allotment 7-0 at Belle View Consett took the lead through a superb Ryan Bell volley from a corner, then Michael Mackay made it 2-0 from the penalty spot. Mackay dribbled through and scored the third before half time. Calvin Smith headed the fourth on the whistle, then soon after the resumption Luke Sullivan broke clear and curled the ball home. Carl Piecha headed number 6, then Mackay completed his hat trick from a Josh Gray cross.

Sunderland RCA were denied their first win of the season by Celtic Nation and had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

They took the lead with a looping header by Craig Price, then Gavin Barton got the second from close range in the second half. But in the last 15 minutes Tyler Bowman pulled a goal back for CN, then Dean Crozier equalised.

In the second division, Darlington RA are now unbeaten in their last five games after drawing 0-0 at Whickham.

Ryhope CW beat Northallerton by the best of eleven.

Northallerton took an early lead through a Colin Anderson penalty, but Jack Pounder levelled for Ryhope with his 7th goal of the season. However, Danny McLachlan restored Northallerton’s lead just before half time. There were four goals in five minutes straight after half time, with Richard Hodgson, Andy Appleby and Michael Charlton scoring for Ryhope, and McLachlan for Northallerton. Ryhope then had Craig Hughes red carded, but Stephen Oakley still made it 5-3. Anderson pulled a goal back for Northallerton, but then they had Dale Elgie dismissed for his second yellow. Martin Metcalfe made it 6-4, and McLachlan pulled one back in the last minute.

Tow Law had a bad night at South Shields, going down 5-0.

Shields took the lead with a 31st minute goal by Paul Kane from a David Molloy pass, and three minutes later Barrie Smith fired the second. Molloy scored a third three minutes before half time. Andy Renton added the fourth from a 1-2 soon after half time, and the goal of the night was scored by James Talbot from 35 yards. Tow Law were without a recognised keeper, so Gary Anderson went in goal.

Esh Winning lost 3-0 at Ryton and Crawcrook, who stay fourth.

Chester-le-Street drew 1-1 with Billingham Town. Chris Stephenson gave Chester the lead on 52 minutes, but Callum Brown equalised.

Washington came from 2-1 down to beat Heaton Stannington 3-2. Washington led with an own goal, but Heaton took over and led with goals by Lee Johnson and Joe Wear on 65 minutes. However, Chris Winn and Danni Lay hit back for Washington, whose manager Steve Hutchinson ran the line in the second half because of an injury to the referee.

Hebburn won 5-1 at Alnwick, who took a half time lead with a penalty by Keith Douglas , but Hebburn hit back in the second half, with Channon North scoring twice to take his tally for the season to nine.
