Dunston UTS came from behind to beat West Auckland in the ENL First Division last night.
West, who hope to announce their new manager soon, took the lead after 28 minutes when Dunston defender Dale Burrell headed an Alex Francis free kick into his own net, but Dunston defender Dave Coulson equalised with another header from a corner at the other end.
Dunston keeper Liam Connell pulled off a couple of good saves, but Dunston took the lead from another setpiece, when Coulson again headed in a Burrell corner.
In the second division, Washington warmed up for their big FA cup tie against Lancaster this weekend with a 3-0 home win over Whickham, James Fairley, Chris Winn and Mark Davison scoring their goals.
Chester-le-Street won 3-0 at second placed Birtley with goals by Jordan Fraser, Ben Johnson and an own goal.
