NEWCASTLE boss Chris Hughton has handed Faroe Islands youngster Joan Edmundsson an unexpected starting spot at Norwich.
The teenage midfielder will start at Carrow Road as the Magpies play their second pre-season fixture this afternoon.
Tim Krul starts in goal, with Joey Barton, Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll all named in a reasonably strong starting side.
Newcastle may well line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with strikers Nile Ranger and Leon Best lining up alongside Carroll.
As at Carlisle last weekend, Hughton is expected to change his entire side at half-time, but neither Steve Harper nor Fraser Forster has travelled with the squad.
Instead, youngster Jak Alnwick is named as the replacement goalkeeper.
NORWICH (4-4-2): Ruddy; Martion, Crofts, Nelson, Drury; Surman, Hoolahan, Fox, Martin; Jackson, Ward.

NEWCASTLE (4-3-3): Krul; R Taylor, Tavernier, Coloccini, Enrique; Edmundsson, Nolan, Barton; Ranger, Carroll, Best.
Subs: Alnwick (gk), Williamson, Ferguson, Henderson, Smith, Guthrie, Routledge, Xisco, Amoebi, Lovenkrands, Vuckic.
